The Devon Biodiversity and Geodiversity Action Plan identifies key element of Devon’s geological and geomorphological heritage. It particularly focuses on those geological features, as defined by the Geological Conservation Review, which are particularly well represented in Devon. These features form the basis for the notification of 72 geological Sites of Special Scientific Interest and 34 shared geological and wildlife Sites of Special Scientific Interest. Particular features recognised include:
